CCCAV was established on the 17th January, 2008 as a voluntary community based and non profit organisation. It is also a working member of the national body, Chinese Community Council of Australia (CCCA).
The role of CCCAV is to advocate and represent the identity and interests of the Chinese community in Victoria and to foster a spirit of cooperation and unity amongst Victorians of Chinese descent from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan and other parts of the world.
CCCAV aims to operate as a modern social enterprise to:
1. Advocate and collaborate with all levels of government and industries on behalf of all Chinese in Australia to:
- Establish and enhance the Chinese Australian identity and voice
- Enable the Chinese community have equal access to government services like migration services, aged care, youth services, employment, health and education;
2. Develop and deliver new and sustainable services that strengthen the resilience of the Chinese community ; develop their profiles and empowers them to contribute to 21st century Australia’s cross cultural maturity, leadership, enterprise, innovation, nation-building and internationalisation excellence.
3. Provide professional consultancy services to various businesses, government departments and community organizations in relations to cross culture knowledge, capabilities and projects developments, and working with Chinese communities locally and internationally.
